Online job ads fall in November 2022

The November 2022 Preliminary Vacancy Report shows that in seasonally adjusted terms, online job advertisements decreased by 3.4% (or 9,600 job advertisements) in the month to stand at 273,200.

Recruitment activity decreased across all states and territories during November 2022 except for the Northern Territory (up by 0.7% or 20 job advertisements).

Despite the fall in job advertisements nationally in November 2022, in the last twelve months job advertisements have increased by 5.6% (or 14,400 job advertisements), with all states and territories recording an increase.

In comparison to levels of recruitment activity observed prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, online job advertisements are up by 62.3% (104,800 job advertisements). This growth is reflected across all jurisdictions, with increases ranging from 34.3% (2,000 job advertisements) in the ACT to 103.5% (1,800 job advertisements) in Tasmania.
