The latest Australian Labour Market for Migrants report has been released by Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA).
The publication provides high-level data and analysis on the Australian labour market that is intended to inform recent migrants to Australia, people interested in working in Australia on a temporary or permanent basis, and organisations providing services to migrants and potential visa applicants.
Consistent with recent labour market analysis by JSA, the publication finds that labour market conditions in Australia were particularly robust in 2022, with the unemployment rate falling to levels not seen in close to 50 years. However, the strong pace of employment growth will be difficult to sustain and the Australian labour market is not immune to the international forces driving higher inflation and slower global growth.
