The publication notes:
- labour supply and skill shortages are high across the global economy
- while most countries have seen a recovery in GDP growth since the pandemic, growth has slowed for most advanced economies in 2023
- job vacancies have grown significantly beyond pre-COVID levels for Australia and other English speaking countries. While vacancies are beginning to taper off in 2023, they remain at substantially higher levels for Australia and the United States.
