The April 2023 Preliminary Vacancy Report shows, in seasonally adjusted terms, online job advertisements increased by 3.6% (or 10,100 job advertisements) in the month to stand at 294,500.
Over the month, recruitment activity increased across 7 states and territories. The strongest growth was recorded in South Australia (up 8.2% or 1,300 job advertisements), followed by Victoria (up 4.8% or 3,500 job advertisements), Western Australia (up 4.4% or 1,500 job advertisements) and Queensland (up 3.6% or 2,200 job advertisements).
In the same period, online job advertisements decreased in the Northern Territory (down 3.7% or 120 job advertisements).
Job advertisements over the last twelve months have increased by 0.7% (or 2,100 job advertisements), with 4 states and territories recording an increase. The strongest growth over the year was recorded in Tasmania (up 23.0% or 830 job advertisements) and South Australia (up 12.0% or 1,800 job advertisements).
